Marine Habitat. A bi-monthly magazine with marine fish keeping and conservation at the heart. The ‘Conservation – Our Support’ section looks at how we support global marine conservation efforts.
Marine Habitat is in strong support of the global conservation efforts that focus on natural marine habitats for example coral reefs.
Nearly 60 per cent of the world’s remaining reefs are at significant risk of being lost in the next three decades!
This is not a small issue, and not something that can be resolved overnight however, MH will aim to firstly raise wareness enabling hobbyists to make more informed decisions about their choices of livestock and its source, and secondly raise some funding for the organisations out there that are working hard to conserve what we have.
We very much hope MH readers will thoroughly enjoy this magazine for its content, but also acknowledge and support the underlying focus.
As stated above, Fish Junkies are keen to raise awareness of the ever growing risk to the world’s spectacular coral reefs through its Marine Habitat magazine, but in addition we feel there is a little more we can do to support this and hopefully go some way towards making a difference.
We will achieve this through our pledge to donate a minimum of 5p from EVERY copy of Marine Habitat sold to a chosen marine conservation organisation. While in isolation 5p may seem a small amount, collectively across all magazines sold we hope this will equate to a generous donation.
Through this approach, every reader that purchases a copy of the magazine, will in a small way, be contributing to the future welfare of all natural marine life.
Each year Fish Junkies will select an organisation to support. Details of this years organisation will follow.
